Relationships

We are never truly alone.

Humans are social beings and we are hard-wired for connection. And while the relationships we have in our lives can deepen our experience of joy, purpose and fulfillment; relationships are commonly a primary point of stress. Relationships require us to have compassion and respect. Relationships also have the power to teach us a great deal about ourselves.

We all get reactive when needs within us are unmet. Therefore relationship work often begins with each individual. Relationships benefit when we work to listen deeply and speak authentically. Communication skills can be fine tuned so we are able to engage in conversations in more meaningful ways. And, in therapy we might also cultivate important skills in recognizing and accepting the work of nurturing the most important relationship in our lives… the relationship we have with ourselves.
